Mount Evans, July 2021: The Rest of the Mountain Goats

July was my first visit to Mount Evans in two years.  I was sitting alone with a group of 10 mountain goats.  I was in no rush to be anywhere else.  So I took a lot of photos.  Who wouldn't?

This youngster seemed to be walking quite tentatively for a creature with such amazing balance.

Standing may not be terribly dynamic.  But when done well, it can be compelling.

The little one looks like it feels quite safe and content.  That's sweet.

Baby mountain goats have no concept whatsoever of personal space.

I dearly love pictures of mountain goats who appear to be laughing.

He looks like he's leaping right out of the picture!

The personal space thing again...

See how much happier this little one looks to finally be alone?

More careful balancing ...

... which doesn't help much when you're being ACTIVELY PUSHED OFF THE LEDGE!

Yeah, mountain goats are awesome.  It will be hard to top this visit, but I very much look forward to trying again next summer!
