Olympic Peninsula, July 2021: Camp Forever Young

We spent our final night on the Olympic Peninsula at a Hipcamp site near Quilcene.  Known as Camp Forever Young, the couple who own the property have already put in a ton of work and have big plans for its future.

Turkey, Camp Forever Young
The location includes a small farm with goats, sheep, chicken, and turkeys.  I always find the faces of male turkeys fascinating, if not exactly "handsome."

Fireweed, Camp Forever Young
Wildflowers were in full bloom, including Fireweed...

Bees had also found the foxgloves, and I enjoyed spending some time on the warm afternoon just watching them busily collect pollen.

Tomorrow we would take the ferry back to Seattle, return the van that had been our home on wheels for a week, and fly back to Texas.  Our time on the Olympic Peninsula had been everything we hoped it would and more -- the scenery, the van, and best of all the time we got to spend together.  I look forward to more of ALL of it!
