Olympic Peninsula, July 2021: Salt Creek Campground

After a restful first night at the Dungeness Recreation Area, we took a short jaunt 31 miles west to the Salt Creek Campground.

I've seen YouTube videos of how habituated to humans the Columbian Black-tailed Deer on the Olympic Peninsula are.  And judging by how often they came to feed in the small meadow next to our campground, the videos are quite accurate.

Perplexing Bumble Bee and Foxgloves, Salt Creek Campground
Foxgloves are my favorite wildflower.  When I can shoot some with a Perplexing Bumblebee visiting?  Bliss. :)

We saw several fawns during our trip, including this little delight.

Dad never let his baby far out of his sight.  But as afternoon turned to dusk, the little one decided she was tired and just wanted a bit of a rest.  It took a gentle nudge and kick from Dad to inspire a change of heart.
