The final stop on my wonderful waterfall road trip was Rifle Falls, an iconic Colorado destination that I had never visited.
The falls themselves are a mercifully short walk, especially after the downpour and difficulties of morning near Ames.As the featured attraction in a state park, the falls have wonderful access. You can easily walk around to see them from virtually any angle.
Like every other waterfall on this trip, the falls were absolutely roaring.
I love the triple aspect of the falls -- the three different cascades make this a truly unique place.
For one of the rare occasions on this trip, the sun broke through the clouds while I was shooting! It literally painted the falls in a different light.
One last shot, and it was off to what I thought was my final night of camping. Unfortunately the sun didn't last, rain came in, and Hanging Lake (which I'd hoped to make my final stop) was closed for trail maintenance. So I ended up driving all the way back to Castle Rock having seen a tremendously satisfying 19 waterfalls in four days!
