After some beautiful scenery along the Abyss Lake Trail, I knew anything else I saw on my foliage drive would be gravy. Fortunately, I like gravy.
I drove at a leisurely space, stopping whenever something caught my eye. Like these golden aspens with some fireweed still clinging to its purple petals in the foreground. The scattered clouds meant I had to sometimes had to wait for just the right light to capture a hillside like this one.
Then wait some more after I recomposed to capture it again.
A short walk from a pulloff on the north side of the pass got me a rushing creek, which I love.
I don't normally love having the "hand of man" in my nature shots, but I'm not opposed to the road running through the middle of this one. This was a foliage drive, after all.
Did I mention I love creeks in my shots? The Silverdale Interpretive Site provided a nice one.
Yup, dig them creeks.
One last shot to capture being on the cusp of the transition from summer to fall, and it was time to head into Georgetown and grab some breakfast!
