The morning after my busy three-stop day it was up before dawn and back into Arches National Park to try and catch one last sunrise on my road trip.
I decided to go right back to The Windows Section, and unlike the previous evening's sunset I actually got to see the sun this time. And it was beautiful. There was gorgeous golden hour light striking the terrain to the south.
I walked over to Double Arch, only to find that the sun hadn't risen enough yet to cast any direct light on the formation. Still cool.
As I walked back to my car, I noticed that the sun was beginning to light up the area nicely.
I drove through the rest of the park, and was most taken by the contrasting light and shade on either side of Park Avenue.
At this point I felt that I'd seen all the things I'd hoped to see, and was ready to start the drive home. Three national parks, including one I'd never visited before. What an awesome start to my summer!
