We went up to
Rocky Mountain National Park today for a scenic drive. While at the
Alpine Visitor Center about noon we saw what we first thought was a low cloud to the southeast. Danelle was the first to remark, "I don't think that's a cloud; I think that's a fire." And
she was right.

The smoke from
Forest Canyon Overlook on
Trail Ridge Road.

The smoke seen from
Rainbow Curve on Trail Ridge Road.

The view from around
Deer Ridge Junction.

The view from Highway 93 just north of
Boulder around 4 p.m.

Another shot from Highway 93.

The view from just north of
Flatirons Vista Trailhead around 4:15 p.m.

Another shot from around Flatirons Vista Trailhead.
Our prayers are with everyone whose lives and homes are endangered by the blaze.
